Privacy Policy
Last updated 24 October 2026.
This explains what Swylo collects, why, where it goes and the choices you have. In short: your wardrobe and photos stay on your phone, nothing is sold, and a picture only leaves your phone when you use a cut-out or "Try it on me".
1. What we collect and why
- Account details. If you sign in with Google, your name and email, to identify your account. "Try it now" creates a local guest profile with no email.
- Your wardrobe. Photos of your clothes, the cut-outs and small copies made from them, and the type, colour, name, dressiness and warmth of each piece. Used to build outfits.
- Your photo. An optional full-length photo of you and the cut-out made from it. Used to show you on a backdrop and in your fits.
- Style and body details. Your usual size, height, vibe and occasions, and optionally weight and measurements if you add them. Used to personalise suggestions. Body details are sensitive, so they are optional and you can delete them.
- Your fits. The outfits you wear or plan, the days you choose, and any AI pictures you keep.
- Approximate location. Only if you allow it, to check the weather. It is rounded to about 1 km and used for the forecast only.
- Device and app data needed to run the app, such as crash information from your phone. We do not run advertising or tracking in this version.
2. Where your data is kept
Your wardrobe, photos, cut-outs, profile and fits are stored on your phone in Swylo's private storage. They are not uploaded to our servers in this version.
If you sign in with Google, Swylo uses Supabase to handle sign-in. A database for backing up your wardrobe may be added later, and this policy will be updated and you will be asked to agree again before any of your wardrobe is stored online.
3. When pictures leave your phone
Only in these cases:
- Cut-outs. If you agree, a photo (of a garment or of you) is sent once to Swylo’s server, which passes it to Google’s Gemini image model to remove the background and returns the result. Swylo’s server counts uses per phone per day and does not keep your pictures. If you say no, cut-outs are made on your phone.
- "Try it on me". A picture of you on your backdrop and photos of the pieces are sent to Swylo’s server, which passes them to Google’s Gemini image model and returns the result. Swylo’s server counts how many times each phone uses it per day (using a random id that is not linked to you) and does not keep your pictures. If the main model is unavailable, the server may use a backup Gemini model; the pictures still go only to Google.
- Weather. Your rounded location is sent to Open-Meteo for the forecast.
- Shopping. Your location and exact measurements stay on your phone; distance to stores and your size are worked out there. When you view, try on, save, love, pass on or tap Buy on a brand’s piece, Swylo records it for that brand with a random id for your phone and a rough profile: your style (womenswear, menswear or mixed), usual size, a height band, preferred fit and your area’s name. Brands see these only as totals. Your name and email are sent only if you switch on Profile > Share my contact with brands, and then only to brands whose pieces you try on, save, love or tap Buy on.
- Brands. If you use Swylo as a brand, the brand profile, store location (rounded to about 100 m) and catalogue you publish are public to every Swylo user, stored on Swylo’s server (Supabase). Unpublish by deleting pieces.
- Sharing. When you tap Share, the picture goes to the app you choose.
We do not control Google’s handling of what is sent to them. Only use photos you are comfortable sharing that way. You can turn cloud features off in Profile > AI features. If you do, cut-outs are made on your phone and "Try it on me" is unavailable.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use these services to run the app: Google (sign-in, and the Gemini image model for "Try it on me"), Supabase (sign-in, the server that runs "Try it on me" and, later, storage) and the shared brand catalogue, Open-Meteo (weather), and the map services built into your phone (to work out distance to stores). We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
Data on your phone stays until you delete it. Delete a piece, remove your photo, delete your style profile, or choose Delete account and all data in Profile to remove everything. Uninstalling the app also removes its local data.
Swylo’s server does not keep pictures sent for cut-outs or try-on. Published brand catalogues stay on the server until the brand deletes the pieces.
6. Your choices and rights
You can: use the app without a photo of yourself; turn cloud features off; deny camera, photo, location or gallery permission in your phone settings; and delete your data at any time.
Depending on where you live (including under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act and, for people in the EU or UK, the GDPR) you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because your data is on your phone, you can do most of this yourself in the app. For anything else, contact the support contact on Swylo's app store listing.
7. Children
Swylo is not for children under 13. If you are under 18, please get a parent or guardian's permission, and do not add photos of other children. If we learn we hold a child's data without proper permission, we will delete it.
8. Security
Your data is kept in the app's private storage and sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone locked and updated. If a breach affecting you happens, we will tell you and any authority as the law requires.
9. International transfers
Services such as Google and Supabase may process data in other countries. Where you choose to send a picture to them, it may leave Singapore or your home country.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and ask you to agree again in the app before the change applies to you.
11. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact the support contact on Swylo's app store listing.
